Flat lay of 3D printed samples in black PETG, white PLA, silk PLA and grey and blue swatch tiles

PETG

Our recommendation for most jobs

What it's good for

Parts that have to do a job — brackets, housings, jigs, clips, replacement components. It flexes a little before it breaks, and it shrugs off a hot car or a sunny windowsill.

How it feels

Solid and slightly waxy to the touch. Feels closer to an injection-moulded part than a hobby print.

The finish

Subtle sheen, layer lines visible but even. Looks industrial in the good sense.

PLA

Best for shape and detail

What it's good for

Concept models, architectural pieces, display parts and anything where crisp edges matter more than toughness. Not the one for heat or heavy load.

How it feels

Rigid and light. Snaps rather than bends if you push it too far.

The finish

The sharpest detail we offer, with a clean matte surface that takes paint and sanding well.

PLA Silk+

When it needs to look good

What it's good for

Presentation pieces, props, gifts and anything being photographed or handed to a client.

How it feels

Smooth, with a satin slip to it. Noticeably more premium in the hand.

The finish

A soft pearlescent shine that catches the light and hides layer lines better than standard PLA.
